Memorial Day Murph 2015

One of the most memorable days / weekends of the year has came and gone but thoughts and images will never be forgotten. Stories, laughter and effort spread throughout 1701 Lincoln Way East on Monday, May 25th, all in Remembrance and Honor for our Fallen Military Hero’s.

This year, CrossFit Massillon welcomed back Ashley and Jeremiah from Minnesota. We welcomed Brian from Oklahoma City.  We welcomed 3 other local Veterans Chip, Dave and Doug all new to “the Murph.” With over 50 + athletes in attendance, this was a day to remember.

It was a privilege to witness all the determination from everyone who took part. Some of which have made this day so important, they haven’t missed it in 3 + years … With much appreciation for Miranda, Laura and Eric, and we can’t forget Ivan!

For the first timer’s, this day brings a little fear, some shaky nerves, and without any doubt a lot of sweat. But at the end, I haven’t seen anyone yet that wasn’t excited when it was all over and glad they took part.

Even our VIP’s felt a little nervous, not knowing what the outcome will be. But when they look across the gym and see a friend or a young Veteran like Dave Jatich along with a 60 + year old, even two very special gals both of which are pregnant battling through pushups and squats, their pain seems to disappear.

As tough and challenging as this special workout appears , no one should feel that it’s impossible to do knowing the true story behind it.

After watching hours of interviews with Marcus Luttrell, the “LONE SURVIVOR”, a Mile Run, 100 Pullups, 200 Pushups, 300 Squats followed by another Mile Run, doesn’t seem like it’s enough!

You can decide for yourself…
